
Chrysoulla Markoulli is Sydney-based composer and sound designer, with a passion for telling stories through music and sound. Since 2016, she has had the privilege of merging creative forces with a range of collaborators to tell powerful stories on Australian stages, and both domestic and international screens. Highlight credits include: Iphigenia In Splott (New Ghosts; 2025, 2020), If/When (ARACOURT; 2024), Pickled (PYT Fairfield; 2024),The Turn of the Screw (Tooth and Sinew; 2023), Pearly Gates (Miss The Mark Productions; 2022), Tell Me Before The Sun Explodes (Rock Bottom Productions; 2022), Hot Mess (2021), Jali (Griffin & Aya Productions; 2021), Mary (Miss The Mark Productions; 2021), CNUT (ARACOURT; 2020), My Brilliant Career (Belvoir; 2020), Arrival (ATYP; 2019) and YEN (New Ghosts; 2018). Her creative approach to storytelling through composition and sound design, has been recognised through multiple awards and nominations including the: Sydney Theatre Awards (2023, 2022, 2021), Broadway World Australia Sydney Awards (2022, 2021, 2018), ScoreLive Competition (2021), Glories of the Score Competition (2017) and Artology Fanfare Competition (2016). Chrysoulla is excited to be a creative collaborator with Riverside National Theatre of Parramatta this year, as composer and sound designer for Daytime Deewane!
